Exciting outdoor activities and adventure holidays
Welcome to the website for Head For Adventure. We offer a variety of services for clients with a range of needs and abilities. We specialise in providing short breaks (or respite care) for young adults and children with brain injury.
We provide services to individual clients and to small groups, on either a residential or non-residential basis. The majority of our clients opt for ongoing provision; for example one of our clients comes to us for short break care for one weekend per month and one week each school holiday. Another client does a day a week of activities with one of our experienced instructors, working towards nationally-recognised certificates of achievement.
2011 sees the start of our group adventure holidays in the UK. Have a look at our Events page for dates and locations.
Our work is aimed at developing independence skills and self confidence. We firmly believe;
- in providing a friendly, supportive, and safe environment for people to explore their surroundings and their social and physical skills.
- in acting as an advocate for, and in the best interest of our client at all times.
- in making every experience a positive, rewarding one for everyone involved.
- that it is not our place to judge or criticise.
- that everyone is different, and that's a good thing.
- that everyone should have the opportunity to challenge themselves if they want to, and that we will do everything in our power to help them go as far as they want.
- in working closely with other important people in our client's life, such as friends, family, case managers, and other professionals, in order to meet the specific needs of our client.
- that nothing should be too much trouble.
