SPECIAL OFFER>>
Supported Peak District Walking Breaks.
Summer
Special! To celebrate the arrival of summer, we are offering
a two day break in the Peak District for £395 + VAT.
This includes food
and accommodation, two days walking (other activities are
also available) and support during the evening and overnight
if required. All you need to do is get to Buxton or a nearby
train or bus station, and we'll do the rest. Buxton is centrally
situated in England, and is easily accessed by rail or road.
For example if you are coming from London it only takes
about 2 hours on a direct train from London Euston to Macclesfield,
where we could pick you up. We can however help with other
transport if you would like us to. Please ask for details
and cost of extra activities and transport.
So what will you be doing? Well, the two days can be completely tailored to you and your abilities and what you enjoy, but here is an idea to get you started.
Day 1.
When you arrive in Buxton you'll be met by Neil, and have a chat about what will be happening for the next two days. We'll go through the vital safety information, and then kit up and get out onto the hills. After a healthy packed lunch and hot/cold drink we'll continue the walk and get back to the car. At the B&B you'll be shown to your room and have some time to yourself to sleep if you need it, and wash and change ready for tea. After tea it's back to the B&B to look at the map and make the plan for tomorrow.
We can also help you to fill in your diary if you keep one, or one of our holiday experience sheets, to remind you what you have done during the day. At night time, you can choose whether you want Neil (or a female support worker for girls) to stay in the room with you (it can be quite confusing waking up in a strange room sometimes), or to stay in another room close by, or just to be available by phone.
Day 2.
Breakfast is usually at about 8.30am, and then there is time to wash and pack your bags before we check out around 10am. We do a quick re-cap of the plan, then head off for the second day of activities. Depending on how you are feeling, we'll either have lunch out at the activity and then carry on, or head back into Buxton and find something more relaxing to finish off the day with.
At the end of the day, usually around 4 or 5pm so you've got time to get home, we will help you make your train/bus or meet up with whoever is collecting you. Again, before you go, we can help with diaries or experience records if you want us to.
A few days after you leave, we will post you a CD with all the photos we took of your break, and you'll get a certificate to prove you survived, and what activities you did. We also write up trip reports which your case manager or solicitor may want.
